We specialise in the transcription of digitally recorded sound files. This can include statements, interviews, discussion groups, and focus groups etc.

A Quick Question and Answer Guide
How long does it take to transcribe 20 minutes of audio?
A general rule is it will take four times as long as the length of the recording to turn an audio recording into a written document.
Therefore a 20-minute recording will take 80 minutes. With an hourly rate of $40, that will be approximately $53.
Is my recording good enough?
The recording should be clear with no or little background noise and the recording device is close to the person speaking. Please be aware of the environment – background noise is not advised!
I will transcribe using intelligent verbatim, so any unnecessary chat, or ums and ahs or false starts are not included. If there something I cannot hear I will insert a time code in square brackets [00.00] so you will know exactly where on the recording it is.
Will I be charged extra?
There are many transcription companies who will charge extra for recordings that are hard to hear, take longer to complete or there are more than two people speaking. However, we will not charge extra because we want to give our clients a fixed price, so there are no surprises when the work is complete.
